On March 11 we featured Aoife Nic Canna, a collaborator of the show who produces the soundbite La Hora Gaeilge with Rey Reyes! Jesus Antonio and Cecilia Barrios brought us another episode of The Polyphonic Tavern and Ariadna Santeugini gave us an update on Spanish football and the Premier Leage! All of this seasoned with a pinch of Latino Music!
Aoife is the producer of the Irish Language program in Near 90.3 fm called «Ar Muin Na Muice» which is on air just before Radio Latina on Wednesdays after 5.30pm. According to Irish Times (8 March 2015), Aoife is «one of the pioneers of Irish clubland» and currently one of the top ten DJs in Ireland. Dubbed the first lady of Irish House by Hotpress, Aoife has been a central force in the Irish Dance Music scene since its initial development (25 years ago). She has held several residencies in the city including The Rock Garden, U2’s The Kitchen and 8 years at Ri-Ra. Internationally, she has played a series of gigs at the legendary Hacienda in Manchester, Sheffield, Brighton, Lisbon and Zurich. She also hosted the Slick Dj Awards in The Academy in Dublin in 2008.
